I have somewhat damaged and oily hair so this product was too "moisturizing" for me. I don't mind spending an exorbitant amount of money for my hair if the product is worth the price, and I definitely don't think Alterna Caviar Seasilk is worth the price. While it made my hair feel soft, it left a lot to be desired in terms of style and overall look.

Cons:
It kind of looked like I hadn't showered in a day-- my hair looked weighed down and heavy instead of flowing and clean/polished.

Pros:
It left my hair feeling incredibly soft and smooth.

Do yourself a favor and buy the smaller size to try before investing in the big bottle. You just never know if this product (no matter how many rave reviews) will react with your hair. I really wish I had the foresight not to have gotten carried away by all the five star reviews on Amazon and throwing caution (and money) to the wind by purchasing the 33.83 oz without at least trying it first-- what a waste.

I recommend this product if you have plans to go over your man's house to do some heavy petting in the dark and are willing to trade softness for the "barely-washed" look or insanely dry hair that is dying for some moisture.

I do not recommend this product if you only have over-processed or damaged hair that is somewhat oily.

PS. I really recommend Shu Uemura Moisture Velvet Nourishing Shampoo instead, it delivers what Alterna doesn't (A+ all the way). Shu Uemura is a bit pricey (around $40 for just the shampoo) but is completely worth the price. It will give you incredibly baby soft hair that looks beautiful and polished as well. Nothing else comes close.
